NAFSA CALLS ON FOOTBALL SUPPORTERS TO HEED THE CALL ON THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19

Wednesday, 18 March 2020

The Executive Committee of the National Football Supporters Association (NAFSA) would like to make a plea to all football loyalists to heed government’s call on the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

NAFSA recognizes that it is every citizen’s responsibility to do everything in their power to support President Ramaphosa’s call to prevent the rapid spread of the Coronavirus.

As an organization that respects the laws of the Republic of South Africa and as protagonists of social cohesion, we have an obligation to mobilize our members to respect these founding ideals.

We are however disappointed by the exclusion of NAFSA in the consultative processes currently underway at the PSL, SAFA and the Ministry of Sport, Arts and Culture.

NAFSA is monitoring ongoing discussions at the PSL and SAFA with the hope that all decisions taken will serve the interests of football lovers and those of the country.

Football loyalists are urged to continue observing health and hygiene protocols which include thorough washing of our hands at all material times.

Furthermore, NAFSA strongly condemns irresponsible acts of a wide spread of fake news and criminality at the time when the country requires a concerted effort to win the war against COVID-19.
